This season adidas Originals and the transhuman digital avatar, RUBY 9100M, have come together to launch their take on the forward-thinking Ozrah silhouette. Boasting evocative lines and eye-catching details, the striking sneaker is inspired by the increasing oscillation between online and off-line worlds and seeks to encourage creative expression and self-acceptance.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, RUBY 9100M is a stylist, artist, and influencer who is known and celebrated for her unrivalled impact on the digital art scene since 2016. Embracing the undeniable perfection found in imperfections and highlighting the contrast between human vulnerability and rationalised robotics, she continues to inspire young people to accept themselves for who they are.
Drawing on RUBY 9100M’s unique aesthetic perspective, the collaborative sneaker itself boasts a patent leather upper with printed stripes, as well as a puffed nylon tongue that is elevated with a jelly logo that features the avatar’s iconic cyborg eye graphic. The boundary pushing silhouette then comes replete with a custom rubber RUBY 9100M butterfly logo keychain, custom sock liners featuring a RUBY 9100M rendered butterfly transformation graphic, and arrives packaged in a unique box.
The launch of the groundbreaking collaboration coincides with RUBY 9100M’s debut single release, Screaming. The song will be globally released through Avastar, a brand new music label dedicated to transforming music in the metaverse. The single explores Ruby’s artistic perspective, merging her signature aesthetics into music and visuals and represents a new step in her identity as a digital transhuman.
“I’d rather scream to myself deep in my soul, bottle it up, than tell anyone who can’t really understand me” explains RUBY 9100M.
The adidas Originals by RUBY 9100M Ozrah sneaker arrives 24 September.
