Inspired by rice, a staple food present in both Brazilian and Japanese cultures, used as a symbolic reference to continuity and structure, rice informs the conceptual foundation of the project. Its grains are abstractly translated into the design, reflecting the relationship between individual elements and the construction of a unified whole—an approach that guided key design and finishing decisions.
On the sneaker, this concept is expressed through an emphasis on surface and tactility. The upper features materials designed to invite touch, reinforcing the idea that the product can be experienced beyond wear only. A layer placed over the technical mesh reproduces the texture of raw rice, strengthening the connection between memory, culture, and sensory perception. Synthetic leather panels feature embossed graphics, including the iconic ASICS spiral on one foot and the Tomoe symbol on the other. A snakeskin-inspired textured panel references the Sanshin, a traditional Okinawan instrument, through indirect visual association. At the back of the shoe, a silver finish is paired with a pressable red semi-sphere, adding an interactive and tactile dimension to the design.

In-store Pickup:
Store location for collection will be based on which model you purchased and will be shown as an option during checkout. Your order will be ready for collection based on when you placed your order:
- Orders placed Monday - Tuesday: ready for pickup Wednesday 6pm onwards.
- Orders placed Wednesday - Thursday: ready for pickup Friday 6pm onwards.
- Orders placed Friday - Sunday: ready for pickup Monday 6pm onwards.
If your pickup-ready date falls on a public holiday, it will instead be ready the following business day. You have up to one week to come and pickup your order.
